Treloar Shield Championships

What is the Treloar Shield?

The Treloar Shield is a series of organised Track and Field competitions held in the greater Sydney area between October- December. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment while participating in our sport. Sure, you will get to share the venue with a few Olympians from time to time, but the event is pitched at all athletes (including Para athletes) of all abilities and standards, aged 9-80+.

A point score also operates so get your club mates out and about!

Who is it for?

Everyone with an eligible NSW Athletics Membership and born in 2015 or earlier will have the opportunity to compete in the Treloar Shield Series.

Athletes must be registered as a Little Athletics, Junior, Open or Concession membership under the NSW partnership to
participate in the Treloar Shield. As a Canterbury Athletics member, you hold a NSW Athletics membership and are eligible, so long as you meet the age specification.

Can I use my performance to qualify for other events?

Yes you can.

While the series is conducted in a relaxed nature, all 6 preliminary rounds and the final are conducted at WA permit standard.

This means you can use your performance to qualify for Junior or Open Nationals (or international competitions if applicable).

How do I participate?

Entries are available from the Athletics NSW Treloar Shield page here.

Entries for each round will open 11 days prior to the competition and close the Wednesday (midday) prior to the competition day.

How much does it cost?

Each round will cost $20.

You can participate in as many events as you wish providing you have entered them by the time entries close.

Late entries will be guaranteed up until 23:59 the Wednesday prior to competition day (but will incur a $10 late entry fee on top of the entry fee). After this time, entries will be at the discretion of ANSW.

What else do I need to know?

Athletes/parents should ensure;

  1. They have entered for the event within the timeframe (Entries open 11 days prior to the event day and closes the Wednesday 12pm before the event day)
  2. They have read and understood the competition rules outlined on the event page here
  3. They have read the FINAL timetable which will be released after entries have closed.
  4. Athletes have the club uniform.
  5. They arrive to the venue with enough time to park and warm up for their event
  6. They understand there is no call room, marshalling or calling of the events; Athletes must report to the Start line of the track race 10 mins before scheduled start time and 20 minutes before the start time to their field event to allow for warm up attempts.
