This week we will be featuring highlights from our Presentation Night, and will be kicking off with the most prestigious award of the evening – the Allan Shaw Trophy.
The Allan Shaw trophy acknowledges the work and service of Allan Shaw who has been an integral member of the club since its second year of operation. This prestigious award goes to an athlete who shows a love of athletics and displays good behaviour, listening and manners along with a consistent effort to strive for their best and value good sportsmanship. The trophy is awarded via Age Manager and Committee nominations of athletes in the U10-U17 age groups and voted on by the General Committee.
We were incredibly proud to present the Allan Shaw trophy this year to Siena Mace from the U14 age group.
Siena displays all the characteristics of true sportsmanship. She is supportive of all athletes, having been seen running alongside younger competitors encouraging them during middle-distance events. She is friendly, approachable, and helpful to both athletes and officials and shows commitment to her sport through training and her approach to competition. She sets an incredible example to athletes of all ages.
This season she has competed at the:
🌟 2020 NSW ACPE All Schools and won the silver medal for Javelin
🌟 2020/2021 ACT U/14-U18 Championships and won the Gold medal for Javelin
🌟 2020/2021 NSW ACT U/14-U18 Championships and won the bronze medal for Javelin
🌟 2020/2021 LA NSW Youth State Championships and won the bronze Medal for Javelin
🌟 2021 Australian Track & Field Championships placing 5th in the U15 Girls Javelin
🌟 Breaking our Club Record for Javelin this season for the U14 Girls
Siena, congratulations! You are a much valued member of Canterbury Little Athletics, a wonderful role model for all of our athletes and so deserving of this award!
