This Friday will see the debut of the CLAC Club Multi Championship!
The Club Multi Championships is a Combined Events competition, which is an age appropriate version of the heptathlon/decathlon.
Held on one night only, athletes will compete in their age group across all events on their program. Athlete’s performances will earn points in each of their events (based on the LANSW Combined Events Scoring Tables). The title of Club Multi Champion is awarded to the athlete with the highest accumulation of points across their events. Competing in all events is essential to achieving a good result in the multi/combined event format.
The events for each age group is as follows:
U6: 50m, 300m, Discus
U7: 50m, 500m, Shot Put, Long Jump
U8: 100m, 700m, 60m Hurdles, Discus, Long Jump
U9: 100m, 800m, 60m Hurdles, Shot Put, Long Jump
U10: 100m, 800m, 60m Hurdles, Discus, High Jump
U11: 100m, 1500m, Shot Put, Javelin, Long Jump
U12: 100m, 1500m, Discus, Triple Jump, High Jump
U13: 100m, 1500m, Shot Put, Javelin, Long Jump
U14-17: 100m, 1500m, Discus, Triple Jump, High Jump
The Tiny Tots program will remain unchanged.
Results will be announced as soon as they are available – which we hope to be in the days following the competition. The first three place getters in each age group/gender will receive a Championship Medal at the end of the season to recognise their achievement.
If Friday night is cancelled due to weather, the Club Multi Championships will take place on our next competition night – Friday, 12 February.
