Congratulation Marcus McGeary!
Further to our end of season results and awards that were announced on the weekend, special mention and acknowledgement to our Allan Shaw Trophy winner for 2019/20…. Marcus McGeary!
This award is Canterbury Little Athletic’s highest honour and Marcus personifies what our club is about – participating, striving, and having a positive attitude.
Over a number of years now Marcus has helped inspire his fellow athletes to improve their own performance through his words of encouragement and leading by example through his own unwavering effort. His attributes are a true homage to Allan Shaw.
On the track and in the field, Marcus has improved week on week, and year on year, and that persistence was rewarded this year when he broke a long-standing club record in the Triple Jump with a 12.16m jump in February! He also qualified for the State Champs after his 12.24m silver medal winning jump at the Regional Champs.
