Inner City Zone Athletics Championships

Inner City Zone Championships will take place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December 2025 at ES Marks Athletics Field, Moore Park – Enter via Boronia Street, Kensington.

Inner City Zone (ICZ) is comprised of: Balmain, Canterbury, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Randwick Botany, South Eastern and Tigers West. Clubs compete at Zone Championships in late November or early December, usually at E.S. Marks. The event takes place over two days on a Saturday and Sunday.

At each Inner City Zone, more than 100 athletes from Canterbury Athletics Club come together with oodles of club spirit. There’ll be no Friday night competition on the Friday beforehand, so to get your Little Athletics fun, register and join the fun!

Zone Championships is open to all current season athletes 7s to U20s and entry is by parent/ self nomination online through ResultsHQ. Every member applying will be given an opportunity to compete and represent Canterbury Athletics Club – but please note some events receive a high volume of interest and not all applicants will receive an offer for every event they submit for.

Lining up for events

Athletes must be at the call room 15 minutes before their scheduled track event time and 10 minutes prior for field events. Generally, no announcements will be made. Refer to the Zone Program for the program and start times.

As a parent/carer it is your responsibility to ensure your child gets to marshalling area on time. You are less likely to miss a call if you are sitting in the Canterbury seating area.

Family Duty

Every family with a child participating at Zone is expected to complete a duty at the event.

It is a condition of Zone Championships entry that each family with a competitor assists on one of the days. This is in addition to any regular Friday night competition duties, and does not count toward Bond duty fulfilment.

Families will be offered the opportunity to sign up to their preferred Duty slot. If required, the Volunteer Manager will then assign any remaining spots requiring to be filled. If families cannot make your allocated session, it is their responsibility to find someone who can fill it. No-shows may impact future opportunities with Canterbury Athletics Club and result in forfeiting Bond refund for the season.

Do not go directly to any officials.

For any event disputes, please see Canterbury Athletics Club’s Team Manager on the day. Do not go directly to the officials.

Full Club uniform must be worn
