State Relay Championships
The 8-12s Valour State Relay Championships take place on Sunday 10 November at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre (SOPAC).
13 (U14s)- Masters Valour State Relay Championships will be held over Friday 15 to Sunday 17 November, also at SOPAC.
Canterbury Athletics Club has a proud record in the State Relays. Events are offered for 8s and above across both track and field events. It’s a lot of fun for all the kids involved and an honour to represent the club!
Event entry for State Relays is by Canterbury Athletics Club Age Manager appointment. Athletes are selected based on merit in the Point Score Competition (Friday night).
For 8s- 12s, athletes may only participate in Track or Field events, not both.
Age Managers will reach out to notify athletes/parents of their nomination in the weeks preceding the event, via the registered email address and/or phone number. If you/your child is not able to participate please let your Age Manager know as soon as possible so that the next athlete can be selected and offered a place.
Training will be conducted for Sprint Relays in the weeks prior to the event. It’s essential that athletes selected attend these sessions to practice and finalise baton changes.
Any questions can be directed to our Championship Officer, Steve Laws: championship.officer@clac.org.au

Volunteer Duties
A condition of selection for all Athletics NSW & Little Athletics NSW Championship events is that each family conducts a volunteer session to help with the running of the Championship (which is applicable to all clubs attending).
Families will have the opportunity to select their preferred session from the available options. Canterbury Athletics will then allocate any remaining sessions to ensure our club commitments are fulfilled.
No-shows for any allocated volunteer sessions will result in forfeiting the Canterbury Athletics Club Duty Bond and may impact on future representative selection.
Please note that Age Managers, Committee and Team Coordinators are exempt for rostered duties on the day as they are volunteering in other capacities.
